Rashtravardhan (rv) is a film writer/director. A pessimist at heart with a centrist mind. He yearns for intention, love, nature, analogue world and the internet of the 2000s—and that’s what inspires his work.

He’s a big, North Indian, six-foot-tall, bearded man. But he’s the opposite of the stereotype in your mind right now.

For him, art is a perspective of daily life. It comes through lived experience. But to truly be an artist, he believes, one needs to master their craft first. He started mastering his craft of film directing and production at the New York Film Academy, graduating top of his class in 2023.

Now approaching 30, he’s tired of this world that’s lost its mind. He’s become more intentional and slowed down—both in his life and his art.

Growing up alongside the wild, uncharted internet, rv watched it transform from a creative haven into an algorithm-driven machine. His work pushes back against that: reclaiming creativity, exploring the absurd modern life, and genuine human connection in the digital noise.

His first short film has won an award and been screened at four festivals worldwide (as of October 2025), with more festivals ahead.
